Little Miss Bows and Bands

Dresses, shoes, headbands. I am a sucker for all 3.  Now that I have 2 kids though, I never really thought about how expensive it was to shop for 2 wardrobes. When Ashlynn was born, everyone mostly gave her 0-3 month outfits so I was good to go for the summer months. Now that it's fall, I have nothing to put her in, so I need to start buying everything on my own.

Luckily, my sister had a girl that was born around the same time as Ashlynn, so she has given me a lot of her clothes to borrow. Well, now I want to buy a few things of my own for her.  A few weeks ago I went to the mall and purchased a couple fall pieces to get her started. I wanted to get her a few headbands as well, so when searching on Facebook I came across Little Miss Bow and Bands

Not only do I think headbands complete an outfit and look super cute, but I also think they are a money saver!! I think you can change the way an outfit looks by simply switching the headband.

Little Miss Bow and Bands has beautiful headbands start from $5. I like how she has a variety of prices to suit everyone's budget and that you can get them in all sizes. Farah also accepts custom orders as well, so if you needed a headband to match an outfit for a certain occasion she can create something for you.

She also carries Top Knot Headbands in an arrange of colours and patterns. What's great about Top Knots is that they are fully adjustable! You can get them in cotton starting at $9 and organic starting at $11. She has sizes from newborn to adult.

New to her line up is these ADORABLE 100% genuine leather moccasins!! They are hand crafted and come in many different colours. They are on sale now on her website for $30 (Reg. $35) They come in 4 different sizes- 0-6 months, 6-12, 12-18 and 18-24 months.

What I love about Little Miss Bows and Bands is that she is local, but if you don't live close by she does offer shipping across North America.

She just did a soft launched of her website which you can order items on line so check it out here. More items will be added soon. If you want to like her page on Facebook so you can stay up to date on her new items, sales and promotions click here . Follow her on Instagram too!

FTC disclaimer: I was gifted some headbands from this shop, but the opinions are my own and I am not being compensated for this post.

Starbucks Vanilla Bean Crème Frappuccino anyone?

Sorry, this one is mine but I'll buy you another one...lol

This year I decided to make my daughter's Halloween costume. Sometimes when my son is in pre school, instead of going home, Ashlynn and I head over to Starbucks for a Vanilla Bean Crème Frappuccino. She loves the attention she gets at Starbucks- all the staff go nuts over her. She is always full of smiles too.

When it was time to start thinking of what she was going to be for Halloween,  I knew making her a Starbucks Frappuccino would be perfect and of course super cute!

It was pretty easy and CHEAP to make! I purchased a pack of white felt and white tulle from Michaels Craft Store to make as the cup and whip cream. Then I found a Starbucks logo on line that I enlarged, and had printed in colour at Staples for the front of the cup.

I cut the felt to the length and shape I wanted and then I added 2 arm holes at the sides. I sewed the tulle all around her neck line as the whip cream and used felt glue to attach the printed logo to the front.

Last week when I was at Starbucks I saved the lid from my Frappuccino and took 2 straws instead of one so I could use it for her costume. I added a bit of tulle inside the lid to make it look like more whip cream was coming out of the top. To get it on and off easily I sewed 3 buttons to the back that I purchased from the dollar store.

That's it- DONE!

Target Canada at World MasterCard Fashion Week

Last night I saw Target Canada's Spring 2015 Collection at World MasterCard Fashion Week held at David Pecaut Square in Toronto.

The show didn't start until 9:00pm, but the doors opened at 8:00pm. This gave you time to check in, have a drink, and stop by some of the booths. I always like getting to these kinds of events early because I love the booths- they always give out free stuff!! If you get there too late the line up can get pretty long. Diet Coke was there giving out mini glass bottles of Diet Coke, Maybelline had a booth where you could touch up your makeup before the show, and Juicy Couture was handing out free sample of their perfumes.

My favourite booth was MasterCard's priceless surprise booth. You had to take a picture of yourself, post it to instragram, then go to this machine that was filled with surprise gifts, get a code and # the code, #WMCFW #pricelesssurpirses and then the machine would drop you a gift. We received a $20 Gift Card to Target!!

Pandora had a pretty cool booth. We took 4 photos of ourselves which they printed out for us and then emailed them for a keepsake.

When we got to our seats we each had a swag bag full of goodies waiting for us. We got Target coupons, an umbrella, a candle, household cleaners, Trident Gum and some Skinny Cow Chocolates which I ate watching the show, lol

Here are some pictures before the show:

With all the bright lights on the runway when the show started, it was very difficult to get some good shots, so I have some here to show you courtesy of George Pimentel photography.

World MasterCard Fashion Week is running for 2 more days if you are interested in attending a show. Tickets cannot be purchased online anymore, but limited tickets may be available on-site. For more information visit their website at www.worldmastercardfashionweek.com/

Our Family Photos!

Every year I like to drag my family with me for an annual photo shoot. I was pretty nervous this time around because we have a 3 year old boy who hardly listens to us and a 4 month old that doesn't know what is going on at all. I was so afraid we weren't going to get any good shots! To my surprise, the session actually went pretty well. I usually don't show my family photos this early because I like to wait and show them on our Christmas card, but this year I am actually doing something a little bit different.

For last years photo session we went to Lakeview Park and had some photos done on the water. This year, I wanted to change things up and make it look different. I wanted to add some flowers in the shoot, so our photographer Carly, from Carly Bee Photography suggested Rotary Park in Ajax. I also wanted a yellowish glow so we went at sunset. Well, the photos couldn't have turned out more perfect! I love them all! It was exactly what I was looking for and I'm excited to share them with you!

This one is actually my favourite shot! I love it!

She was giggling so much here!

I thought this one was super cute with Ryan's arms around Ashlynn. So sweet!

This one is pretty funny but it's the only one I have of the two of them together..lol

Love this one of Ryan! He looks so grown up!

Below are the ones I chose to frame and put in our front hallway. When I went to the photo lab department to get them developed the ladies said they were the nicest photos they have seen so far!!

Have a great week!
